Critter Camp (Ages 4-6)

Prairie Patrol
June 11-15

The prairies have a special place in our history. They extend from rolling grasslands to our own Prairie Pothole region, all with their own diverse animal habitats. Critter Camper’s will discover how animals depend on the prairie for food, shelter, water, and other important resources. Explore several unique animals that thrive in the prairie landscape from the burrowing prairie dogs to the roaming bison. Investigate the amazing home that we share with our animal friends.

Habitat Heroes
July 16 through 20

There are many habitats around the world including jungles, prairies, desserts, wetlands and more. Each day we will explore a different habitat and the animals that survive there. Why might a red panda prefer a cold weather climate? How can the camels live in both the hot dessert but also survive freezing snow? How does a parrots’ bright feathers help it camouflage? We will also explore what you can do to become habitat heroes for the animal that live close to us or around the world!
