Children’s Zoo Farm

When you visit the zoo you are sure to have fun in the Children’s Zoo Farm! This dynamic space is filled with fun-based learning opportunities, domestic animals, and two beautiful gardens.

What You’ll Discover on the Zoo Farm

  • An Interpretive Center which provides a fun play space dedicated to modern agriculture in North Dakota. Kids can learn about soil health on our climbing wall, pretend to be a farmer inside a real combine, explore interactive signage, and watch a movie about farming in our classroom. As you visit the interpretive center make sure to check out all the wonderful photos featuring local people that help bring food from farm to table!
  • Two beautiful barns house domesticated and heritage breed farm animals including cows, a horse, sheep, goats, alpacas and chickens!
  • The Zoo Farm showcases two beautiful gardens; our crop demonstration space which features the top 5 crops grown in North Dakota. Travel further into the farm and you will see our sensory garden, which is not only beautiful but functional. It is a certified pollinator garden. Both gardens are planted and maintained by volunteers. If you see someone working in the garden be sure to say hello, they love to visit about the work they do at the zoo!
